Hyderabad: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, in collaboration with the Department of School Education, Government of Telangana, is launching the first batch of “AI for Teachers” through the BRAOU Digital Education Academy. More than 1,500 teachers have already registered for the first batch.

The programme aims to equip teachers with basic knowledge and practical skills in Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, enabling them to use AI for teaching, lesson planning, content creation, assessment and learner support, while promoting its ethical, responsible and human-centred use. The BRAOU Digital Education Academy is a pioneering initiative to build an AI-ready and digitally empowered teaching community, strengthening innovation and digital pedagogy in education. AI will not replace teachers. AI-enabled teachers will transform learning.
The programme, set to be launched online on Thursday evening, will be attended by Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Naveen Nicolas, IAS, Commissioner and Director of School Education, Telangana, as the Guest of Honour.
