BRAOU Promotes a Healthy, Drug-Free Society

• Students Urged to Participate in the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat–Sankalp Abhiyan"               Pledge

Hyderabad, July 31, 2026: In accordance with the directions of the Government of Telangana, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is conducting awareness programmes under the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Sankalp Abhiyan" through its Regional Coordination Centres and Learner Support Centres across the State, said the University's Registrar, Dr. L. Venkateswara Reddy, in a press statement. The Registrar stated that the University has initiated the campaign following the directions issued by the Special Chief Secretary to the Hon'ble Governor of Telangana to the Vice-Chancellors of all State Universities, calling for the effective implementation of this nationwide initiative.

Dr. L.V.K. Reddy explained that the primary objective of the campaign is to support the national vision of Viksit Bharat by promoting a drug-free India. Through the "Nasha Mukt Yuva" campaign, the University seeks to create awareness among young people about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage them to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

The Registrar appealed to all students, faculty members, officers, and staff of the University to register on the official MY Bharat Portal      https://mybharat.gov.in/events/nasha_mukt_yuva and take the Sankalp Pledge on or before 2 August 2026. He also instructed all Heads of Departments, Regional Directors, Coordinators, and Learner Support Centre In-charges to motivate students to participate actively and ensure that the pledge is completed well before the stipulated deadline. The University called upon every young citizen to become an active partner in building a healthy, drug-free, and developed India.
